Vision

Functioning to advance and sustain values
and create enabling environment and
processes in which every woman and girl
can exercise her human rights and live up
to her full potential

Human Dignity

We believe that everyone is a child of God, born with the same rights as everyone else. We work to support those whose rights are abused and whose dignity is disregarded.

Our Approach

A Women’s and Girls’ Rights Upfront (WGRU) which seeks to elevate women’s and girls’ well-being higher up on the international peace and security agenda both in terms of making it a priority for all actors, and by ensuring women and girls participate in peace processes that impact their future. By prioritizing the needs of women and girls, we can also begin to address the underlying factors that contribute to the vulnerability of women and girls to violence, lack of access to education, employment opportunities, healthcare, reliable supplies of food and water, shelter, and/or have experienced displacement from their families.

Organization’s Core Values

These eight important values are the building blocks that constitute ALO‛s humanitarian support and services value system. They ensure that our staff, partners, volunteers, suppliers/vendors, and anyone who comes into contact with ALO adheres to the principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence, which are fundamental to humanitarian action.
